Management Team

Decisiv's senior management team is comprised of trade and technology experts that offer more than 120 combined years of knowledge. The senior management team is committed to focusing on its customers' need to improve the top and bottom lines as well as increase customer satisfaction and customer retention.

Dick Hyatt
President and CEO

Dick Hyatt has more than 25 years of experience building, managing and growing early stage technology companies including SAGE Systems, Automation Partners, Hayes-Ligon (sold to ADP Dealer Services) and Amteva Technology (sold to Cisco Systems). Prior to his tenure at Decisiv, Mr. Hyatt was a Director of Marketing in Cisco's Unified Communications business. Mr. Hyatt is responsible for all aspects of building a world class team of industry and technology experts and delivering high quality, profit improving products and services leading to long term customer satisfaction.


Derek Messulam
Senior Vice President

Derek Messulam has over 15 years experience driving new market expansion for large and small organizations spanning industries from communications and media to transportation. Formerly a member of the Decisiv Board of Advisors, Derek joined the Decisiv Management Team in September 2008.

Prior to joining Decisiv in a full-time capacity, Derek served as vice president of market development at GE Capital Solutions. His primary responsibilities were to drive asset and service revenue growth for GE's fleet services organization, which is presently the largest fleet management company in the world, with a focus on the major car rental and truck services markets.

Before joining GE in 2005, Derek spent ten years in high-tech marketing. Most recently with British Telecom PLC, where he built two industry-focused technology consulting units and led the UK-based company's efforts in the US to develop and grow its presence in both the energy and communications verticals.

Prior to BT, Derek spent seven years at Telcordia Technologies (acquired by SAIC in 1998) in a variety of leadership roles including general manager of Telcordia's unified messaging solutions group, at the time Telcordia's fastest growing business. Other roles included strategic business development and new market growth initiatives. As a member of the Conita Technologies board of directors, he oversaw SAIC's investment in the company from 1999-2001. Derek holds a BA in economics from Fordham University and an MBA from Columbia University.


Satish Joshi
Chief Technology Officer

Satish Joshi has spent the past 20 years designing and developing software for a variety of global companies. His tenure with TIFR, Pegasus Software, Amteva and Cisco ensures broad knowledge of technical and business-related issues of software development. He applies this knowledge to Decisiv's state-of-the-art software and network based services. As Decisiv's CTO, Mr. Joshi has built a Technology Team with exceptional networking, database, application and telecommunications experience. Before joining Decisiv, members of Mr. Joshi's team have designed highly scalable and secure network environments, built database applications and created Internet based voice and messaging solutions.


Steve Hayes
Sales and Implementation Training - Products

Steve Hayes brings unparalleled industry expertise to Decisiv. Mr. Hayes spent 16 years in fixed operations management at an industry-leading dealership and he led the dealership's Fixed Operations Group to numerous awards, including top-grossing Fixed Operations dealer and the number-one dealer in customer satisfaction. Mr. Hayes used his successful dealership Fixed Operations experience to create Hayes-Ligon Corporation, the automotive industry's most successful electronic service pricing guide publisher. Mr. Hayes' creation is installed in over 9,000 dealership locations with more than a dozen manufacturer private label agreements and endorsements.Today, Mr. Hayes focuses on Decisiv's sales and implementation of Decisiv's Service Management Platform.


Shirley Ann Preston
Director of Finance and Administration

Shirley Preston brings more than 35 years of real-world expertise to Decisiv, having spent 25 years at AT&T in various management and project management positions, and most recently senior management positions at Amteva and Cisco Systems where she managed all aspects of Human Resources, Finance, Administration and Facilities. Mrs. Preston continues to share her expertise at Decisiv, where she oversees and manages Human Resources, Finance and Administration.


Jeff Sweet
Director of Support Services

As the leader of the Decisiv Support Team, Mr. Sweet brings over 15 years of technology experience to managing Customer Implementation and Support Services at Decisiv. Managing a team of trucking industry and technology experts, Mr. Sweet's responsibilities include, developing user group and customer input sessions, supporting the customer hotline, managing customer implementations and performing all training needs. Previously with Cisco Systems, Mr. Sweet's background includes software testing and network management.


Jack Porter
Senior Consultant

Jack Porter has invested over 30 years in the truck business. As Vice President of Valley Freightliner, a full line 24/7 Freightliner dealership in Seattle , Mr. Porter grew the business to over $90 Million in revenue across two locations. Since arriving at Decisiv, he has moderated a number of dealer and Fleet 20-Groups, the later under an agreement with the Truckload Carriers Association. Mr. Porter has also served on various industry boards including the Associates Dealer Advisory Board and the Meritor Dealer Advisory Board. Mr. Porter's work with Dealers, OE Truck and Component Manufacturers and Fleets gives him a unique insight from both sides of the supply chain. At Decisiv, Mr. Porter establishes and leads Truck and Fleet 20-Groups, as well as provides expert consulting and training services to individual dealers, dealer groups and fleets.


Mark Cook
Senior Consultant

Mark Cook brings extensive knowledge of all aspects of dealership operations. Mark comes to Decisiv with nearly 30 years of experience in the heavy duty truck dealership business, the last 21 years as VP / GM of Golden Gate Truck Center in Oakland, California. Mark served on many dealer council and dealer advisory boards including two terms as Chairman of the Isuzu National Dealer Council. Mark's organizations have been recognized with numerous sales achievement awards including: Regional Dealer of the Year Award for Freightliner LLC, multiple winner of the Drive for Excellence, Presidents Forum and eleven times awarded "Ichiban Dealer" for Isuzu Commercial Trucks. Mr. Cook Specializes in Manufacturer training of dealership personnel and moderates and establishes 20 Groups and consults for Truck and Equipment Dealers.
